The EDGE DS and EDGEi DSi cards are the same size as a regular Nintendo DS or DSi cartridge. It has been likened to the R4 card, DSTT card, and M3 cards. The basic function of all of these cards remains the same – however, the EDGE DS is arguably the most reliable card for a DS or DS Lite in existance. In addition, it quite possibly wins the war on looks as well! Unfortunately, in October 2009 the EDGE DS card was discontinued from manufacturing. This is because the EDGE team decided to focus on their new, DSi compatible EDGEi card instead.
The EDGE DS and iEDGE cards came in a unique triangle shaped box, packaged neatly, making it look great for a potential gift.
